What we do

Landscape Development are contracted to some of the largest land developers in Australia to undertake front yard landscaping packages. The landscaping services are a part of the developer’s free incentive pack which usually includes landscaping, fencing and/or technology. We pride ourselves on our ability to design and construct water wise front yards, and at the same time meeting local shire and estate guidelines. These water conscious front yards are designed by our consultants who actively liaise with the homeowner on site to discuss the landscaping process.

The process:-

1. Application Voucher and Introduction Letter Procedure  

Once you have received the application voucher from your developer, it is imperative that you fill the application in and send it to the address on the form. The application voucher is our only means of contact with you, so please make sure that the details are current and easy to read. Once we have received your application we will respond by sending you an introduction letter.  This letter outlines your responsibilities you need to complete before you call us for consultation. It also is a way to let you know that we received your application and we are awaiting your call to book in for the consultation once your house is complete.

If you are planning to get your builder to install the driveway ensure you contact them to advise that you need the installation of a conduit (90mm PVC storm water pipe) across the driveway for irrigation use only.

Once your house is complete and before calling to book in for the consultation please remember to complete all of the requirements on the letter, for example; 

• Installation of the 90mm PVC storm water pipe across the driveway
• Ensure that your site is clean, free of rubbish, rubble and weeds
• Site must be level and 20-30mm below kerb or paving

·          Ensure that all hard scapes are complete, i.e.: driveway, retaining walls, paving, concrete kerbing, cross overs etc.

2. What the package includes

The front yard landscaping package involves only ‘soft’ landscaping features and excludes ‘hard’ features such as; walls, concrete kerbing, brick and concrete paving etc. Your package includes one onsite consultation, reticulation, turf (wintergreen Couch is standard), plants and mulch. All of the plants that are available for selection promote water wise gardens and we encourage the use of our plant selection guide to help you choose.

3. The Consultation

The complimentary on-site consultation is your chance to discuss and establish the shape of your garden with our consultant, and is also the final step before installation. Consultations are generally pretty brief and made easier if the homeowner is prepared, by having a general understanding of what to expect after having read the letter. After the consultation, changes are not easily made (requires developers approval), so it is vital that you are happy with the finalised plans and therefore avoid any installation delays.

4. The Installation

Once the consultation has been completed the installation needs to be arranged. Our office will contact you within five to seven days of the consultation and organise an installation booking date that is most convenient for you. Time management is one of Landscape Development’s strengths, therefore once the date has been booked, we ensure our arrival on that date! The installation will take a few days for completion and can be conducted without the homeowner present, therefore alleviating time off work issues.

5. Water Exemption

You will need to contact the Water Corporation to apply for a water exemption for your landscaping.  As your reticulation controller will be set to come on more frequently in the early days after installation, an exemption is required to avoid a fine for incorrect use of water.  Check the exemption once it arrives to check when you must set your controller back to your regular watering days. Your watering exemption will over-ride any current sprinkler bans.
