Pre Installation

Before the Installation day

Now that you’ve met an LD Total Consultant you should possess a complete landscape plan that both satisfies all of the Estate covenants and shows the layout and types of materials to be used for your irrigation and landscaping package.
Please ensure you understand the terms on the reverse side of your landscape plan.

You’re almost ready…

When the Consultation has been completed, the installation will be arranged.
Our office will contact you within five to seven days of the Consultation to organize booking an installation date. Please note that if your Consultation is incomplete, it can affect your installation date.

Time management is one of LD Total's strengths, therefore once your installation date has been booked and confirmed; we ensure our arrival on that date.

The installation will take a few days for completion, and can be conducted without the homeowner present, therefore alleviating time off work issues.

Keep your site looking good!

Your next goal is to maintain your site preparation for irrigation and landscaping by:

  • Ensure you’ve graded and maintained your site levels to an appropriate depth for your landscape materials to be correctly installed.
As a guide, you should aim to have your finished levels at approx. 30-40mm below surrounding hard edges (ie. road kerb, footpaths, etc). Some design elements may require you to level areas to greater depths; as a guide, grade soft-leaf buffalo turf areas to approx. 40-50mm and “All-Garden” landscape plans to approx. 50-70mm below hard edges. This should ensure the finished level is slightly below your property’s hard-stand areas to allow for growth and achieve a neat finish.
  • Locate and expose any/all conduits to be used during installation of your irrigation system. This greatly reduces our installers time lost trying to locate under-ground conduits thus ensuring they have maximum time available to them to concentrate on your installation. Conduit locations may include under your driveway/crossover, under paved areas blocking access to small garden beds, to your controller location and from front to rear of property.
  • If you have restricted access to either your mains water meter or electrical meter box (ie. lockable meter box, water meter paved into driveways, etc), please ensure you provide access for our licensed plumber and electrician to install your irrigation connection point and controller. Generally, these trades will visit your property in the fortnight prior to your irrigation and landscape installation. If you require specific times for allowing access please discuss this with LD Total at your design consultation.

All of these items should be discussed in detail with your LD Total design consultant so that you fully understand how to prepare your site for the landscape you have in mind. If you need further help then please contact the friendly LD Total Residential administration team to answer any questions you may have.

LD Total will perform checks on your property in the fortnight leading up to your installation date and ask you to attend any incomplete site preparation issues they identify to avoid installation delays.

LD Total recommends you remain aware of your installation dates and complete your site preparation well before installation; leaving it until the last moment can make you vulnerable to scheduling deadlines, inflated quotations from earth works contractors etc.

It’s also strongly recommended that you ensure we have up-to-date contact details for either yourself as the package claimant or someone authorized to represent you.
As part of the installation process, LD Total will have certain elements of your package installed prior to your actual irrigation system and landscape installation.
This includes (but not limited to) installation of soil conditioning, irrigation plumbing connection and irrigation controller/rain sensor.
